This two-day class is designed for those who have mastered basic editing skills and want to create special effects in Final Cut Pro HD.
Working with layers, masking, filters, keyframes, and animation form the basis for the class. Also covered are workflow topics including interface options, rendering issues, and nesting sequences. A variety of specific special effects will be covered, such as freeze frames, split screens, and traveling mattes. Other effects such as motion, speed changes, keying, and plug-ins and scripts will be introduced allowing you to create an unlimited number of custom effects. Working with other applications such as Photoshop and Cleaner Pro will also be covered.
An Apple Certified trainer using Apple Authorized Curriculum teaches the class. Class size is limited to six students. The fee includes a Student Guide for each student.
At the conclusion of class, the students will be able to:
- Adjust the Effects Interface Options to best match their working style and needs
- Apply basic effects including motion and filters
- Modify motion and filter settings while viewing the effects
- Copy, paste, and remove filter and motion settings
- Apply multiple filters and understand filter order rendering
- Create customized filters and filter packs
- Understand the difference between Rendering and Real-Time effects
- Create freeze-frames and change clip speed
- Understand how keyframes are used to control effects and create animations
- Add, delete, navigate to and view keyframes and settings
- Work with and understand motion paths
- Use multiple layers in a sequence and understand track visibility
- Edit graphics into a sequence
- Create a transition using animation techniques
- Create and use a custom motion setting over multiple clips
- Understanding Nesting and its advantages
- Work with masks, mattes, and cropping to control image visibility
- Understand and work with the color key effect
