This course introduces you to Director's programming language called Lingo. In this course you will learn basic programming skills, program Director to create interactive buttons and objects, and learn how you can use Lingo to control the presentation and interactivity with your audience. After completing this course you will be able to:
- Describe a variable and how they are used in Director
- Correctly create and name variables
- Understand the concept of an Event and an Event Handler in Lingo
- Write Lingo scripts that respond to built-in Director events such as mouseUp and exitFrame
- Write Lingo scripts the respond to user defined events
- Create and understand the use of control structures such as if...then...else statements and repeat... while statements
- Control the movement of graphics via Lingo
- Control the appearance of graphics via Lingo
- Control playback of digital video via Lingo
- Understand the need for global variables
- Understand the basics of writing Lingo that is easy to understand, edit, and re-use in future projects
